Literacy Objectives Companion Website
Helping you to use Literacy Objectives to deliver
'assessment for learning' and improvements in pupils' writing in
your school.
The Literacy Objectives Companion Website will provide you with
materials that will help lessen the burden of marking and show how
Literacy Objectives can be used to improve assessment practices
in your school.
On the website you will find:
- Easy-to-understand explanations of the principles and practice
of 'assessment for learning', showing you how to get the most
out of Literacy Objectives;
Diagnostic marking frames for each of the writing purposes from
Pupils' Books 1, 2 and 3. These will allow you to review pupils'
progress
in writing at word, sentence and text level and identify any
specific
pupil, class and school focuses for writing;
- Pupil self-diagnostic checklists for each of the writing purposes
from Pupils' Books 1, 2 and 3. These are matched to the diagnostic
marking frames and help pupils to identify their own strengths
and weaknesses in writing, as well as set targets for improvement;
- Sample writing responses from pupils for major writing
tasks from Pupils' Books 1, 2 and 3. These responses cover a
range of national curriculum levels, from levels 3 to 7. Sample
writing
responses are provided in annotated and unannotated form to allow
pupils to recognise the standards to aim for and improve their
performance in Optional Tests and SATs.
- Matching charts matching reading questions from Pupils' Books
1, 2 and 3 to the QCA reading assessment focuses. These matching
charts help you to prepare pupils for Optional Tests and SATs
using Literacy Objectives.
- Practical advice on the marking of writing. These are designed
to help cut down on the time you spend marking by providing helpful
strategies for marking.
Sample materials from the Literacy Objectives Companion Website
