Macavity
the Cat
| This
warm up practices: |
| - the alphabet |
| - rhyme and rhythm |
| - description |
| - vocabulary |
Begin by clapping
a slow beat and then start the warm up by saying (in time):
"Macavity the cat is an amazing cat"
Notice that the description begins with the letter 'a'
(amazing).
The idea is to go around the class and encourage the children to say an
adjective, to describe the cat, in alphabetical order.
So, the next person may say:
"Macavity the cat is a black cat"
(or any
other adjective beginning with the letter 'b' (for black)
and so on.
Why not
finish the lesson by reading T.S Elliot's poem to the class?
