The donkey's in the den, |
The donkey's in the den,
Ding dong, ding dong,
The donkey's in the den.
Children link hands in a circle. Choose one to be the donkey and go into the 'den' (i.e. the middle of the circle). Others go round chanting the rhyme. At the end of each verse, children put up their hands if they can think of a d work (e.g. doctor, dinosaur, dentist, dolphin, daisy, dog, duck). The successful child goes into the den and his/her word is used for the next verse in place of donkey.
