All you need to do is just print the extract out and read it to your class. See if they can work out what genre it is. This is a useful way to start or end your lesson.
Why not come back regularly and collect the extracts?

Webster: the World's Worst Dog
(pages 17-18)

Webster dug a hole in the vegetable patch. Carrots and onions went flying through the air.

Gran was showered with soil.
"Bad dog, Webster!" shouted Gran.
"DOWN, Webster!" thundered Dad.

Webster galloped into the house and up the stairs. He dragged the covers from Lucy's bed. He dropped Dad's slippers in the loo. He chewed up Gran's geraniums, and he made a puddle on the bathroom floor.

"BAD DOG WEBSTER!" shouted everybody.

Can any of your class Spot the Genre? Does anyone in your class have naughty pets? What are some of the bad things that Webster did in this extract? What do the class think will happen next? Have they read any of the Webster stories before? Perhaps the class would like to draw a picture of what they think Webster The World's Worst Dog looks like?
