SPOT THE GENRE

Just read out the following extract to see if your pupils can "Spot the Genre"

All you need to do is print the extract out and read it to your class. See if they can work out what genre it is. Ths is a useful way to start or end your lesson. Why not come back regularly and collect them all!

Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such fun,
and the dish ran away with the spoon.

This is a nursey rhyme - Hey diddle diddle. Point out to your class the words that rhyme.
