Researching Energy Resources

Find out as much as you can about one type of energy resource and make a poster explaining how it is used and the good and bad points about it. It might be a renewable or a non-renewable one, but make sure you know which it is and that your poster explains why. If you prefer, you could produce a webpage illustrating the information.

Which Resource?

You will need to choose from the wide variety of resources people use.
These include:

	Wood		Biomass
	Coal		Geothermal
	Solar		Wave
	Wind		Tide
	Oil		Natural Gas
	Nuclear		Hydroelectric

Which information?

Your poster should include the following things:

	A big title stating the energy resource it is about
	At least one picture of the energy resource in use
	Information explaining how people use the resource, especially how they generate electricity with it
	Whether it is renewable or not, and an explanation of why
	Countries where it is commonly used
	Advantages of this resource
	Disadvantages
	Environmental problems with using it
	Some idea of cost - is it cheap or expensive compared with other resources?
	Some interesting or fun facts about it
	Your name as the author of the poster
